CO-Occurring
At Oxytocin we are aware that issues that affect your life will also affect your recovery. It makes sense to deal with mental health issues while addressing chemical dependency issues.
For this reason, we have a dually licensed Mental Health Counselor/ Addictions Counselor on staff full time. This helps to aid in the recovery process by working with individuals on issues affecting their emotional/ mental health and working together with your Addictions Counselor, Peer Mentor and Case Manager to best meet your recovery needs.
Many people are reluctant to enlist in Services because society often attaches a stigma to "mental illness". The truth is that everyone can, at some point, benefit from mental health services. Even the counselors on staff use this to ensure they are at their best while serving you, the client.
In treatment, we will be addressing issues in your life that may be triggers for relapse. Some of these triggers you may not even be aware of. Together, we can work on issues of concern and help you to gain the tools that you need to cope with life’s stresses.
Our goal here at Oxytocin is to work ourselves out of a job. To do that, we want you to be successful in your recovery. If you or your substance abuse counselor feel that you have issues that hinder your recovery we want to address those. Addressing those builds more tools for your recovery.
