MINOR IN POSSESSION (MIP)

Cost $200.00 for the class

$350.00 if an evaluation is ordered

The MIP Program offered through Oxytocin is designed for youth under the age of 21 who have received a first or subsequent MIP charge. The MIP Program is an educational program designed to enlighten youth and their parents about the harmful physical and psychological effects of alcohol on the human body, the serious legal consequences related to substance misuse, and recognize responsible decision-making choices.

The MIP Program consists of one 6 hour class held on a Saturday every other month (or every month if class size allows). If the offender is under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must accompany them to the class. Offenders must complete the entire session to have their letter of completion forwarded to the referent.

Second or Subsequent Offenses

An offender who has multiple charges will follow through with court orders. If a chemical dependency evaluation is ordered, you must make that appointment as soon as possible. If the offender is under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must accompany them. To schedule an appointment you can call (406) 314-6565 or stop into the office located at 1645 US 93 S, Suite D.

The offender is given two (2) weeks or ten (10) business days from the day they are sentenced by the judge to contact the MIP provider and make the necessary appointment to enroll in the class. The offender has 90 days from the date of sentencing to complete the class.
