TREATMENT

You Don't Have to Feel Submerged

Compassionate Care. Individualized Treatment. Lasting Recovery.

At Oxytocin, we believe recovery begins by meeting people where they are. Every individual has a unique story, unique strengths, and unique challenges. That's why we provide personalized, evidence-based treatment for substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders using an individualized client-centered model of care.

Our programs are designed to address the whole person—not just substance use. We recognize that recovery affects every aspect of life, including physical health, emotional wellness, family relationships, employment, legal concerns, and community support. By focusing on the entire recovery process, we help clients build a foundation for lasting change.

Regardless of where you are in your journey, our team is committed to helping you move forward with dignity, respect, and hope.

Our Levels of Care

Level 0.5 – Early Intervention

Early Intervention services are designed for individuals who may be at risk of developing a substance use disorder but do not currently meet diagnostic criteria for treatment.

Services focus on:

  • Understanding personal risk factors

  • Education about alcohol and drug use

  • Building healthy decision-making skills

  • Preventing the progression of substance use

  • Strengthening protective factors

Clients are monitored throughout services to determine whether additional treatment becomes clinically appropriate.

Level 1 – Outpatient Treatment

Outpatient treatment provides flexible services that allow clients to continue working, attending school, caring for family, and maintaining their daily responsibilities.

Treatment is individualized based on each client's needs and may include:

  • Comprehensive assessment

  • Individual counseling

  • Group counseling

  • Family involvement when appropriate

  • Early Recovery

  • Relapse prevention

  • Recovery planning

  • Coordination with community supports

Level 1 services are appropriate for individuals with a stable living environment who can safely participate in treatment while living in the community. Many clients also transition into Level 1 following completion of a more intensive level of care.

Level 2.1 – Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides structured treatment for individuals who need more support than traditional outpatient services while continuing to live at home.

The program allows clients to remain connected to their family, employment, school, and community while participating in intensive therapeutic services.

Treatment includes:

  • Structured group therapy

  • Individual counseling

  • Recovery skill development

  • Early Recovery

  • Relapse prevention

  • Education about addiction and mental health

  • Recovery planning

  • Drug and alcohol testing when clinically indicated

Our IOP emphasizes practical recovery skills that clients begin using immediately in their everyday lives, helping them establish a strong foundation for long-term recovery within their own community.

Specialized programming is available for adolescents using age-appropriate, evidence-based approaches with active family involvement whenever possible.

Co-Occurring Treatment

Substance use and mental health are closely connected. Many individuals seeking treatment experience symptoms such as anxiety, depression, mood changes, irritability, sleep disturbances, difficulty concentrating, or emotional instability. In many cases, these symptoms are directly related to the effects of alcohol or other drugs on the brain and body and may improve significantly with sustained abstinence and recovery.

Because substance use can mimic, worsen, or even cause mental health symptoms, it is often difficult to determine whether a person has an independent mental health disorder until they have had a period of sobriety. For this reason, treatment at Oxytocin begins by addressing the substance use disorder while simultaneously helping clients manage their emotional distress, build healthy coping skills, and improve daily functioning.

Throughout treatment, our clinicians continually assess each client's mental health. As substance use decreases and recovery progresses, we evaluate whether mental health symptoms are resolving as expected or whether they represent a separate mental health condition requiring additional intervention. This ongoing assessment ensures that clients receive the most appropriate and effective care without overlooking either condition.

For individuals with stable co-occurring mental health disorders, Oxytocin provides integrated treatment that addresses both substance use and emotional wellness. When symptoms indicate the need for specialized psychiatric care or a higher level of mental health services, our team coordinates referrals and works collaboratively with outside providers to ensure continuity of care.

Our goal is to help clients achieve recovery by treating the whole person—recognizing that lasting wellness often begins with recovery from substance use while providing compassionate support for the emotional challenges that accompany the healing process.

Higher levels of CARE

Not every individual begins recovery at the same place. Some clients require a higher level of care, such as medically managed detoxification, residential treatment, or a structured sober living environment, before they are ready for outpatient services.

While Oxytocin does not directly provide detoxification, residential treatment, or sober living services, our clinicians complete comprehensive assessments to determine the most clinically appropriate level of care using nationally recognized placement criteria. When a higher level of care is recommended, we coordinate referrals to trusted local and regional treatment providers that best meet each client's individual needs.

Our involvement does not end with the referral. We work closely with referral providers, assist with care coordination, communicate with family members when appropriate, and help facilitate a smooth transition into treatment. Once clients complete a higher level of care, we welcome them back into our outpatient programs to continue building recovery skills and maintaining long-term success.

Our goal is to ensure that every client receives the right care, at the right time, in the right setting—providing support throughout the entire recovery journey.
