OUR STAFF

At Oxytocin, we believe that the quality of care begins with the quality of the professionals providing it. Our team is made up of experienced, compassionate, and highly trained individuals who are dedicated to helping clients achieve lasting recovery and improved mental wellness.

We recognize that every person who walks through our doors has a unique story, unique strengths, and unique challenges. Our staff works collaboratively with each client to develop individualized treatment plans that address the whole person—not just the symptoms or diagnosis.

A Multidisciplinary Team

Our team includes professionals with diverse education, training, and clinical expertise to ensure clients receive comprehensive, evidence-based care.

Our staff is committed to ongoing continuing education, professional development, and maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence to provide compassionate, evidence-based services to the individuals, families, and communities we serve.

Each member of our team plays an important role in helping clients navigate treatment, build recovery skills, and achieve their personal goals.

Evidence-Based Care

Our clinicians utilize evidence-based, best-practice treatment approaches that research has shown improve treatment outcomes. Because every individual has unique strengths, challenges, and recovery goals, services are tailored to meet each client's specific needs.

Depending on the individual's treatment plan, services may incorporate:

  • Motivational Interviewing (MI)

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT®)

  • Trauma-Informed Care

  • ASAM Criteria for individualized assessment, placement, and treatment planning

Our approach emphasizes treating the whole person by addressing substance use, mental health, physical wellness, family relationships, social supports, and recovery capital. By integrating evidence-based interventions with compassionate, individualized care, we help clients develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to achieve long-term recovery and improved quality of life.

We believe that effective treatment combines clinical expertise with compassion, respect, and collaboration.

Team members regularly participate in continuing education, professional development, and specialized training to remain current with evidence-based practices, state regulations, and emerging treatment approaches.

This commitment allows us to provide services that reflect current research, best practices, and the highest professional standards.

Join Our Team

Requirements for Joining Our Team

At Oxytocin, we are committed to hiring team members who are clinically appropriate, ethically grounded, and personally prepared to work with vulnerable individuals and families in our community.

The ideal candidate may be either fully licensed or working as a licensed candidate, depending on the position. However, because of the nature of the work we do, there are specific requirements related to criminal history, sobriety, recovery stability, mental health stability, background checks, training, and professional readiness.

Substance Use and Mental Health Counselor Requirements

To work as a substance use disorder counselor or mental health counselor with Oxytocin, applicants must have:

  • At least 5 years from the date of any criminal conviction

  • At least 5 years of sobriety

Licensed Peer Support Requirements

To work as a licensed peer support specialist with Oxytocin, applicants must have:

  • At least 5 years from the date of any criminal conviction

  • At least 3 years of sobriety

Care Management and Support Staff

To work as a licensed peer support specialist with Oxytocin, applicants must have:

  • At least 5 years from the date of any criminal conviction

  • At least 3 years of sobriety

Many people struggle with these requirements, and we understand that recovery is a process. Our goal is not to create unnecessary barriers. Our goal is your success, the success of the clients we serve, and the success of Oxytocin.

From a brain-science perspective, the brain does not begin to fully normalize for approximately two years after substance use stops. After that, a different kind of work begins. This includes building emotional stability, accountability, insight, professional boundaries, coping skills, and long-term recovery practices. Because of this, time in sobriety matters.

It is important to understand that sobriety and recovery are not the same thing. Many people report being in recovery; however, recovery does not always mean a person has stopped using substances. For our purposes, we are specifically referring to sobriety, meaning no active substance use.

We look for people who are active in their recovery if they have a history of substance use. We also look for individuals who have addressed any significant or ongoing mental health concerns that could interfere with their ability to provide safe, ethical, and effective care.

Background Check Requirements

Because we work with vulnerable populations, including youth, all team members are required to complete background checks. This includes:

  • Criminal background checks

  • Child and Family Services background checks

These checks are required as part of our responsibility to maintain a safe, ethical, and clinically appropriate environment for the clients, families, and communities we serve.

Student Internships and Practicum Placements

At this time, Oxytocin does not accept student interns or practicum placements.

The reason is straightforward. Under Montana requirements, students completing internships or practicums are required to be treated as staff and must meet many of the same onboarding, training, supervision, and certification standards as employees. This includes required training hours and certifications such as First Aid and CPR.

While we recognize the importance of providing learning opportunities for future professionals, we currently do not have the administrative capacity, staffing resources, or time necessary to pay for, train, certify, and supervise students or interns in a way that meets these requirements.

This decision is not a reflection of the value of students, interns, or field education. Rather, it reflects our responsibility to remain compliant, protect client care, and ensure that our resources remain focused on providing high-quality services to the people we serve.

Personal Stability and Ethical Responsibility

The people we serve are often some of the most vulnerable individuals in our community. They may be struggling with addiction, mental health symptoms, trauma, family instability, legal involvement, homelessness, grief, shame, or crisis.

Because of this, it is unethical for us to ask clients to do difficult personal work if we have not taken responsibility for our own struggles. Lived experience can be a strength, but it must be paired with stability, accountability, professional boundaries, and a demonstrated commitment to ongoing growth.

At Oxytocin, we are looking for team members who understand that this work requires more than credentials. It requires personal responsibility, ethical conduct, emotional stability, compassion, and a commitment to the success of our clients, our team, and Oxytocin as a trusted place for healing, recovery, and change.

If you are interested in employment opportunities and meet the basic requirements please contact our office. We do require a complete resume to start the process. Send it to us today!
